Aboriginal Education
At our school, Aboriginal education is a cornerstone of our commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful learning environment.
We honour and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, recognising their importance in our community and curriculum.
Our school actively integrates Indigenous perspectives across learning areas, ensuring that every student gains a deeper understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal heritage.
We work closely with local Aboriginal communities and families to support the wellbeing and success of our Aboriginal students, providing programs that nurture pride in identity and promote positive educational outcomes. Through these efforts, we strive to create a welcoming space where all students can learn, grow, and contribute to reconciliation.

Opportunities available at our school
Cultural Ceremonies
Our school’s NAIDOC celebrations include traditional smoking ceremonies and opportunities for students to learn about Aboriginal music, dance, and history. These events foster respect, cultural awareness, and a deeper understanding of Indigenous heritage within our community.
Yarning Circles
At our school, yarning circles with parents, carers and students provide a respectful and open space for sharing stories, experiences, and ideas to strengthen our school community. These gatherings promote cultural understanding, collaboration and connection to support the wellbeing and success of all students.
Aboriginal Perspectives in Curriculum
Our curriculum thoughtfully incorporates Aboriginal perspectives across all key learning areas, enriching students' understanding of Indigenous cultures, histories and contributions. This approach fosters respect, awareness, and appreciation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage, helping to create a more inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment.
Culture Clubs
Our culture clubs provide a space for Aboriginal students to connect with their heritage, celebrate traditions and strengthen their cultural identity. Through a range of activities, these clubs foster pride and understanding of Aboriginal culture within our school community.
Junior AECG
The Junior AECG (Aboriginal Education Consultative Group) empowers young Aboriginal students to have a voice in their education and community by promoting leadership, cultural awareness, and advocacy.
